Financial analysis of the production and marketing of ornamental sunflowers in the Sinaloa Valley, México

This paper presented a financial analysis of the production and marketing of ornamental sunflower (helianthus annuus) in the valle del fuerte, sinaloa, mexico. The study combined a literature review with a field analysis to evaluate the economic viability of this crop. Production costs were estimated, including initial investment and operating expenses. The results showed that the crop was profitable, due to its low capital requirement and relatively simple maintenance. In addition, the ornamental sunflower stood out for its resistance to pests and diseases, as well as its low water demand, which reduced risks and operating costs. The commercial strategy included direct sales to consumers and distribution to flower shops, which helped optimize logistics and improve profit margins. In conclusion, ornamental sunflower represents a viable option for diversifying agricultural activity in the region.
