La mastitis bovina es una enfermedad inflamatoria de la glándula mamaria con importante repercusión económica en la industria lechera. Los agentes etiológicos más comunes son bacterias como Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus agalactiae, Escherichia coli y Streptococcus uberis, responsables tanto de mastitis clínica como subclínica. En este artículo se describen los principales microorganismos involucrados, su prevalencia en diferentes regiones y su resistencia antimicrobiana, con base en múltiples estudios recientes. Se incluye un análisis comparativo mediante gráficas y tablas de los agentes más comunes. El conocimiento preciso de estos patógenos es esencial para implementar estrategias de control efectivas y reducir su impacto en la salud animal y la producción lechera.
